MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The negotiations between the Azad Kashmir government and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) are set to start as the federal government delegation has arrived in Muzaffarabad today.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a two-member committee consisting of the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan, Ameer Muqam, and the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
The committee was tasked to interact with negotiation committees from both sides and assist in resolving the impending issues amicably and peacefully.
As per details, the formal negotiation between the government of Azad Kashmir and the Joint Awami Action Committee will begin at 3 pm today in Block Four of the Ministers’ Secretariat in Muzaffarabad.
A ten-member delegation from the Awami Action Committee will participate, including three representatives from each division. The delegation includes Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Anjum Zaman, Faisal, Omar Nazir, Mujtaba, Iftikhar Zaman, Imtiaz, Mehran Khawaja, Tausif, and Arbab.
According to sources, PML-N Azad Kashmir President Shah Ghulam Qadir played a key role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table. The PML-N wants all issues to be resolved through talks instead of any kind of chaos.
