ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has released a comprehensive traffic plan in connection with the ongoing One-Day and Tri-Nation Cricket Series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to the details, ITP has deployed more than 300 officers to manage the flow of traffic and maintain smooth movement for both the cricket teams and the general public.

Special arrangements have been made to facilitate the transportation of teams from Islamabad to the stadium with minimum disturbance to the commuters.

Traffic Diversion Plan

The ITP has also prepared plans for diversions in case roads are temporarily closed. Faislal Avenue-bound motorists may take Srinagar Highway, Club Road via Faizabad, and Park Road via Lehtrar Road. Motorists at 9th Avenue may take Sabzi Mandi Mor–Police Lines Chowk via Srinagar Highway or Golra Mor–Peshawar Mor–Srinagar Highway.

For the residents traveling from Margalla Road towards Khanna, the alternative route suggested is Blue Area–Club Road–Lehtrar Road.

Officers are also placed at the service roads to coordinate with motorists and maintain traffic discipline, especially during rush hours when the movement of cricket teams slows down traffic on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys with extra time and exercise patience during team movements.

Traffic updates and advisories are being regularly shared via the Islamabad Police’s official social media platforms and FM Radio 92.4. For emergencies, citizens can contact Pucar-15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915.
