BERLIN (Kashmir English): Italy has offered jobs quota of 10,500 for Pakistani nationals, providing a new employment opportunity for people from Pakistan who wish to seek jobs in Europe.
“This quota has been allowed as a result of the efforts of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhary Salik Hussain, who formally asked for jobs in Italy for Pakistani nationals,” said a spokesman for the ministry.
The development is considered an important step towards increasing employment opportunities abroad.
As per the announced quota, 3,500 Pakistanis will move to Italy on work visas, 1,500 on seasonal work visas for Pakistan, and 2,000 on the non-seasonal work visa route; the balance will be recruited on other valid work channels.
The employment opportunities are offered in a number of fields, ranging from ship breaking to the hotel, healthcare, and agriculture sectors. The employment opportunities that can be gained include welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeepers, nurses, medical technicians, and farmers.
