ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The residents of Islamabad have been enjoying light rainfall continuing from the last night, which has further intensified the cold in the federal capital.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the rainfall will continue in the capital city as well as the surrounding areas on January 01.
Additionally, the Met Office has warned that due to snowfall, there is a possibility of road closures and traffic disruptions in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, Haveli.
Landslides/avalanches are possible in the mountainous areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Fog intensity is expected to decrease in central/southern Punjab and upper Sindh during this period, the Met Office further stated.
