ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal capital authority has enacted stringent security protocols, which include temporary road closures that will occur at specified times before foreign delegations arrive for peace talks.
A traffic police spokesperson announced that traffic throughout the city will experience disruptions on April 9 and 10, but drivers will find relief through established alternative routes that help them navigate the city.
Travelers who need to reach Rawalpindi from Peshawar via GT Road should choose the Taxila Motorway, Chakri and Chak Beli Road, and Rawat paths. The same alternative routes will be used to redirect traffic that travels from Lahore to Peshawar.
The transit rules for F-6, G-5, G-6, and G-7 areas mandate that commuters take Ninth Avenue to reach Rawalpindi through Margalla Road. All vehicles traveling from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point will be directed toward the same route.
Bhara Kahu residents who wish to reach Rawalpindi should follow Ring Road to Bani Gala and Tarlai Road. Ninth Avenue serves as the access route for Rawalpindi drivers who need to reach Islamabad through Saddar-Muree Road.
The traffic authorities announced that all traffic between Zero Point and Faisal Avenue through Coral Chowk on the Expressway will face complete closure for both directions.
The route from Colonel Sher Khan Road to Faizabad requires vehicles to use Stadium Road, which connects to the Ninth Avenue signal. The authorities will use Taxila Motorway and Tarnol Phatak to redirect heavy traffic from Peshawar toward Fateh Jang Motorway.
The authorities will redirect heavy vehicles from Lahore to Islamabad and Rawalpindi through Chak Beli Road to Chakri Motorway. The spokesperson announced that heavy traffic restrictions will completely prevent entry into Islamabad on April 9 and 10. The public will not be allowed to access the Red Zone area.
