Islamabad set to get its first Women’s Cricket team

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CDA and PCB, regarding the upgradation of cricket grounds and promotion of cricket in the Federal Capital, Islamabad.

The MoU was signed in a meeting held between Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and Chief Operating Officer of PCB, Sameer Ahmed.

The meeting was attended by Member Administration CDA Board, Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering, Syed Nafasat Raza, Director Sports and Culture, and other senior officers of CDA.

Under the MoU, a Talent Hunt Program will be launched in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, to promote cricket amongst youth. The Talent Hunt Program will provide equal opportunities to the young boys and girls.

The program will not only facilitate the transparent selection of the players but also provide them with coaching and training of international standards. Under the MoU, PCB will also assist CDA in the upgradation of two cricket grounds in Islamabad.

Chief Operating Officer PCB, Sameer Ahmed, said they are fully prepared to cooperate with CDA for the promotion of cricket in Islamabad. He said that these measures will not only promote cricket in the federal capital but will also bring forward
