ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned the public that a news circulating on social media about a reduction in the taxes levied on mobile phone services was fake.
The regulatory body has clearly stated that no instructions have been given with respect to PTA mobile tax cuts.
PTA states that such news on the internet is false and misleading to the citizens and suggests not to believe this news.
The PTA added that all information concerning taxes on mobile devices and regulations on their imports is transmitted through official channels only.
The response was issued to a number of postings on different social media platforms that misled the public into believing that the tax on mobile usage had been lowered.
