MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Intermittent heavy rains have been predicted in various parts of the country, including Kashmir, from today to August 7. The Meteorological Department has issued instructions to the citizens to take precautionary measures.
On Sunday night, it rained in different parts of Islamabad, which made the weather pleasant, while light rain and drizzle were recorded in different parts of Karachi.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely in various places of Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan from today to August 7. During this, there is a possibility of flooding in rivers and canals in some areas, and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
Heavy rains have also been expected in Balochistan on August 6, while the weather in the coastal areas of Sindh will remain partly cloudy, and light rain or drizzle is likely in some places.
Additionally, spillways have been opened in Rawal Dam due to a rising water level. According to the Irrigation Department, low-level flooding continues at Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, and Sukkur Barrages in the Indus River, while the concerned authorities have been directed to remain alert.
