LUCKNOW (Kashmir English): A 30-year-old Indian woman has lodged a police complaint against her husband, accusing him of interfering with digital freedom and Instagram follower loss.
The woman from India’s Uttar Pradesh state alleged that her husband interfered in her work as a social media content creator, which she claimed led to a significant drop in her Instagram followers.
‘Digital interference’
Indian media reported that the woman, identified as Nisha, alleged that her husband, Vijender, was placing excessive demands on her to focus on household responsibilities, leaving her with almost no time to create content for her Instagram page.
Nisha reportedly uploads two reels daily. In her complaint, she stated that her husband’s behaviour was hampering her ability to maintain an active presence online.
“His interference is unreasonable and is directly affecting my work and visibility on Instagram,” she claimed.
The dispute reportedly escalated when Nisha left her in-laws’ residence and returned back to her parental home.
Later, she approached the local police station to register a formal complaint, accusing her husband of restricting her “digital freedom”.
While no charges have been confirmed yet, local authorities have acknowledged the filing of the complaint. The matter is under preliminary investigation, they said.
