BHIMBER (Kashmir English): The Pakistan military has downed an Indian spy drone that had crossed into Pakistani airspace in the Chhamb sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The drone, said to be equipped with advanced surveillance technology, attempted to collect intelligence along the heavily militarized Line of Control but was promptly intercepted and destroyed by vigilant Pakistani soldiers.

The Pakistan Army issued a forceful warning, stating that any such provocation in the future will be “befittingly replied to.”

“Each and every act of aggression will be replied to with a firm response. Our borders will be defended at any cost,” the official stated.

The latest incident contributes to tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who frequently blame one another for ceasefire breaches and cross-border spying.

Indian officials have not responded so far, whereas the Pakistani side has reaffirmed that it will defend its land and sovereignty against any incursion.
