KATHMANDU (Kashmir English): Indian media faced intense public anger over biased reporting during public protests in Nepal as protesters chased Indian journalists.

According to Kashmir Media Service, young protesters surrounded and insulted Indian reporters and cameramen for biased reporting and pushed some of them away.

Indian journalists covering the protests in the capital, Kathmandu, on September 11 were chased away by protesters shouting “Go back Indian media”.

According to eyewitnesses, several Indian reporters were also tortured, but the police intervened and brought the situation under control.

The protesters said that the Indian media was presenting their protest as a movement against the social media ban, although their real problems are corruption, unemployment and the monopoly of the political elite.

According to them, the Indian media is spinning its own story by ignoring the real issues.

Nepal banned major social media websites

It should be noted that the Nepal government banned major social media websites last week, after which protests started across the country and it was called the Gen Z revolution.

During these protests, 30 people were killed, hundreds were injured and several government buildings were set on fire. After intense pressure, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned.
