Unprovoked Indian firing injures road construction workers in Neelum

NEELUM (Kashmir English): The Indian border forces on Thursday opened unprovoked firing in the Chalhana sector of Neelum Valley, injuring a civilian laborer, the Deputy Commissioner Neelum Nadeem Janjua confirmed.

DC Neelum said that the Indian army targeted an excavator machine and workers engaged in the construction of the Bab Neelum–Chalhana Jagir link road.

A laborer, identified as Sudhir Ahmed, working on the link road, sustained a bullet injury to his leg as a result of the Indian firing.

Rescue sources said that he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Pakistan Army retaliated effectively, silencing the enemy’s guns.

During the exchange of fire, the Deputy Commissioner temporarily halted traffic on the Neelum Highway as a precautionary measure. However, the traffic was restored after half an hour.
