MUMBAI (Kashmir English): Defending champions India on Saturday announced their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to begin on February 7 next year in India and Sri Lanka.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav in his first-ever ICC tournament as captain, and Axar Patel as his deputy in the absence of star batter Shubman Gill.
Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, Hardik Pandya, and Shivam Dubey are also part of the Indian squad.
Apart from this, Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh are also part of the team. Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Washington Sundar, and Ishan Kishan have also been made part of the Indian squad.
India’s T20 team vice-captain Shubman Gill could not make it to the World Cup squad, and Axar Patel has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian team in his place.
It should be remembered that the T20 World Cup will be played in India and Sri Lanka from February 7.
