SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the Modi-led Indian regime is pursuing a dangerous policy of religious apartheid in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where Muslims are subjected to restrictions, mass surveillance, and systematic suppression.

APHC spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar, said Kashmiri Muslim religious events are frequently denied permission or disrupted under the pretext of “security concerns,” while large-scale Hindu gatherings like Amarnath Yatra are not only allowed but receive full logistical and administrative support from the occupation administration.

“This discriminatory approach lays bare the deeply embedded bias and communal agenda driving the policies of the BJP regime in the occupied territory.”

The APHC further stated that this selective suppression of Muslim religious life and the parallel promotion of Hindu yatras form part of a larger Hindutva-driven project aimed at altering the territory’s demographic and cultural fabric.

It warned that such targeted marginalization, fear-driven governance, and religious exclusion are deepening the alienation of the Kashmiri people.

Religious oppression in occupied Kashmir

What is unfolding in occupied Kashmir is nothing short of state-sponsored religious oppression, where Hinduization is being imposed through force and fear, threatening the region’s pluralistic identity and violating fundamental human rights.

The spokesman also condemned the violent and hate policies of BJP regime and its ongoing violent cordon and search operations, house raids and other atrocities in Kashmir.

Advocate Minhas condemning the statement of New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said he has made a deliberate attempt to further criminalize and suppress the oppressed Kashmiris by claiming that any terrorist attack will be treated as an act of war.

The APHC urged the international community to intervene and pressurize India to stop its barbarities against the Kashmiris and resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the relevant resolutions of the United Nations.
