ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In a first for Pakistan’s administrative history, four out of the six Chief Secretaries currently serving in provincial and regional governments belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the details, Shahab Ali Shah is serving as the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Shakeel Qadir Khan is posted in Balochistan.
Similarly, Arshad Mohmand is serving as Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khushal Khan is holding the same position in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The appointments reflect the growing emphasis on merit and professional competence within Pakistan’s civil bureaucracy, where officers are being entrusted with key administrative responsibilities regardless of provincial background.
