Iftikhar Kazmi highlights Kashmir concerns at GLS

BANGKOK (Kashmir English): The Global Leadership Summit (GLS) 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand, brought together international leaders, educationists, and civil society representatives to deliberate on global peace, leadership, and social responsibility.

Syed Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi, Chairman of the Scholars Foundation, represented Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan at the summit. Participating as an educationist and peace advocate, he highlighted the importance of education and humanitarian engagement in promoting sustainable peace.

Kazmi was awarded the Global Leadership Medal and Certificate in recognition of his contributions in the fields of education, philanthropy, and community service. He also participated in volunteer training sessions focusing on youth engagement, volunteerism, and social responsibility.

Addressing the gathering, Kazmi underscored the role of the United Nations in maintaining global peace and drew attention to the Kashmir issue, describing it as a humanitarian concern and a continuing challenge to peace and stability in South Asia. His remarks were noted by international participants.

He was also conferred the Peace and Philanthropist Award in acknowledgment of his ongoing efforts toward peacebuilding and humanitarian initiatives.

Kazmi acknowledged the guidance of Syed Ahtesham Naqvi, Founder Chairman of World Islamic Scouting, and appreciated the support of international partners.

He also commended the organizers, including the UN Peacekeeping Federal Council (UNPKFC), for hosting the summit and the associated volunteer training programme, held in connection with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.
