ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Official documents of the Indian Air Force (IAF) reveal that 780 general-duty pilots, including fighter pilots, have resigned over the past five years, with a record 163 resignations in 2025, the highest number following the May 2025 conflict with Pakistan.
According to internal reports, the unprecedented exodus intensified after the IAF allegedly refused to officially acknowledge pilots who were killed in the conflict, denying them military funerals and formal recognition.
Sources claim that families of the deceased pilots were kept under strict supervision for nearly six months to prevent the release of information that could contradict the official version of events.
No formal public statement has yet been issued by the Indian Air Force regarding the reported resignations or the treatment of the families.
