HYDERABAD (Kashmir English): The new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Hyderabad has revealed its logo and name for the upcoming 11th edition of the event.
The PSL team Hyderabad, on Sunday, officially introduced the name and logo of the franchise, declaring it to be ‘Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen‘.

At an event held in Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, the owners have unveiled the name.
Earlier, The Hyderabad franchise has signed Australiaโs top-order batter Marnus Labuschagne for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), marking their direct signing of the tournament.
In addition to that, the franchise has also signed four local players, including star opening-batter Saim Ayub, wicket-keeper batter Usman Khan, pacer Akif Javed, and emerging star Maaz Sadaqat.
The announcement was made on the official social media accounts of the franchise, which were launched a while ago.

Furthermore, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) official social media handles posted that Saim Ayub was signed in the Platinum category for a mammoth Rs126 million, while Usman Khan was picked in the Diamond category and was acquired for Rs46.2 million.
The franchise has secured Akif Javed in the Gold category for Rs19.6 million, and Maaz Sadaqat secuired deal for Rs35 million in the Emerging category.
Marnus, 31, is a regular member of the Australian Test and ODI teams. He was also part of the 2023 Australian World Cup triumph. Overall, he has played 59 T20s, scoring 1381 runs at an average of 26.55 at a strike rate of 126.81.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad has also strengthened its coaching panel ahead of the historic edition, welcoming former Pakistan red-ball head coach and Australian all-rounder Jason Gillespie as head coach.
Grant Bradburn joins as fielding coach, Craig White as assistant coach, Hanif Malik as batting coach, and Zac Martin will take charge as strength and conditioning coach.
The 11th edition of the PSL is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3. For the first time, the traditional player draft has been replaced by a player auction, set for February 11.
Fawad Sarwar, the owner of Hyderabad
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) welcomed its seventh franchise as US-based FKS Group won the bid for the new team through the highest price at an auction held in Islamabad.
The management rights of the new PSL team, Hyderabad, were secured for Rs175 crore (approximately $6.25 million). The franchise was secured by FKS Group, headed by its president, Fawad Sarwar.
Speaking after the bidding process, Fawad Sarwar said that the team would proudly carry the name of Hyderabad, his hometown, adding the full name of the franchise would be revealed at a later stage.
Sarwar was born and raised inย Hyderabad, where he completed his early education before pursuing higher studies at leading international institutions.
FKS Groupโs entry into the PSL
Although he currently resides in the US, Sarwar said his emotional connection with Hyderabad remains strong. โI always wanted Hyderabad to have representation in the PSL,โ he said, adding that acquiring a PSL team to carry the cityโs name had been his long-standing dream.
Fawad Sarwar is a prominent businessman with diversified interests in multiple sectors. He is the founder and owner of Kingsmen Sports and Enterprises. He also owns the Chicago Kingsmen cricket team in the United States.
A cricket enthusiast, Sarwar remained actively involved in promoting the sport through business and investment. His primary business venture is the FKS Group, where he serves as president.
The groupโs portfolio includes ProCare Health, FKS Aviation, and Kingsmen Enterprise. In addition, Sarwar leads several investment firms, including Sand2Glass Investments, Gilded Investments, and Minus2Degrees.
With the acquisition of the PSLโs seventh team, Sarwar hasnow entered Pakistanโs premier cricket league as a franchise owner, marking what he described as a personal milestone and a tribute to his hometown of Hyderabad.
