ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The sale of the two new teams in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) auction is going to happen on Thursday, 8th January, at the Jinnah Convention Centre located in Islamabad.
The popular vocalist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also render his performance at the venue, which occurs right after the bidding. Before the bidding starts, the victorious players of the Pakistan Shaheens team that was declared the winner in the Men’s Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 held in Doha, and the successful Hong Kong Super Sixes squad will be honored for their victories.
In total, 10 technically qualified bidders will compete hard for the two teams as HBL PSL is going to grow from six to eight teams in its 11th and historic season, which is earmarked for 26 March to 3 May 2026.
The bidders are a mixed lot of entrepreneurs from different industries, including agribusiness, telecommunications, real estate, a US-based software company, and experts in technology from Pakistan and other countries.

The show will start at 4.15 pm, and the stream will be available on HBL PSL, PCB official YouTube Channels, Tapmad, Tamasha, Myco, and PCB Live (UK Region).
Among the shortlisted cities for the allocation of the franchise are Faisalabad, Gilgit, Hyderabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot. These two new teams will now be competing for popularity with the three-time champions, namely the Lahore Qalandars (2022, 2023, and 2025) and Islamabad United (2016, 2018, 2024), the 2017 victors Peshawar Zalmi, 2019 winners Quetta Gladiators, 2020 champions Karachi Kings, and the 2021 triumph team Multan Sultans.
After the incredible success of the two HBL PSL roadshows held in London and New York on December 7 and 13, 2025, respectively, 12 parties submitted bids for the two new teams, but only 10 bidders were shortlisted after the comprehensive technical evaluation process.
