KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti government has declared a public holiday on Thursday, September 4, 2025, on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to the state-run Kuwait News Agency, the weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided that all ministries and government institutions will remain closed on the holiday.
As Kuwait observes a weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday, the offices will resume normal operation on Sunday, September 7.
However, essential service departments will maintain limited operations based on their specific requirements, and private sector institutions are expected to follow the public sector schedule.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has also announced a one-day holiday on Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
It should be noted that in Gulf countries, there is a flexible approach that non-Eid religious holidays can be moved to the beginning or end of the week so that citizens can get additional holidays at the same time.
