ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Higher Education Commission has officially announced PhD scholarships for the 2027 intake under the “Pak-US Knowledge Corridor” program.
According to details, this is a golden opportunity for Pakistani students aspiring to study at top universities in the USA.
These scholarships are for talented students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir who wish to pursue a PhD degree from top 100 QS World Ranking universities in the USA.
In a statement, HEC said that this scholarship is exclusively for PhD programs and does not include Masters, MS, or MS leading to PhD.
HEC has divided the scholarship into two parts based on the ranking of US universities, the first category includes top 50 QS ranking universities.
According to the university invoice, full tuition fees, an annual stipend of 19,200 USD, and annual health insurance support of 2,000 USD will be provided.
For admission to a top 50 US university, a minimum GRE general score of 300 or at least 60% marks in the HEC HAT test is mandatory.
Category 2 includes (51 to 100 QS ranking universities, in which tuition fee support up to 12,000 USD per year, an annual stipend of 19,200 USD, and annual health insurance of 2,000 USD will be provided.
For admission to the US university, the GRE general score should be at least 300 or at least 60% marks in the HEC HAT test.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the scholarship must have completed at least 16 years of education (BS, BSc, BE or equivalent degree), with no 2nd or 3rd division throughout their academic career.
The maximum age limit is 40 years for government employees, regular faculty members of public sector universities or government colleges, and researchers from approved Research and Development institutions, while the limit is 35 years for all other candidates.
Furthermore, the candidate must not be currently availing any other scholarship.

Aspiring candidates are advised to first secure admission in a US university in HEC-approved subjects and then submit their applications through the HEC online scholarship portal. The official HEC website can be visited for detailed information.
