ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts active rainfall for the upcoming three months, which will peak in intensity over western and northwestern Pakistan.
The PMD research indicates that lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northern Balochistan and western Punjab will experience increased rainfall during the late-winter to early-spring period.
The department’s probability outlook presents the strongest evidence for increased precipitation in western and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern to central Balochistan.
The PMD forecast indicates that Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh, and southern Balochistan will experience normal seasonal rainfall patterns while northern Gilgit-Baltistan will receive lower rainfall amounts during the same time.
The PMD forecast combines eight global seasonal prediction models into a single assessment. The Indian Ocean Dipole will maintain neutral status during the season because major climate drivers will not control the weather according to the forecast, which predicts that ENSO will shift from its current marginally negative state to neutral status for the entire period.
The rain outlook shows that PMD expects above-normal temperatures to spread throughout the country while northern areas will experience the most intense warming, and the organization warned that March and April will remain vulnerable to early heatwave danger during dry periods.
