HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): Khawaja Imran Usman Chak opposed the Hattian Bala Inter College relocation, calling it an unwise move and urging the Azad Kashmir government to intervene and protect the institution.

Social and political leader Khawaja Imran Usman Chak of Jhelum Valley has led a firm resistance against plans to relocate the Inter College Hattian Bala building to another institution. He has declared defence against this action at all stages while warning that demonstrations would occur when needed.

The director at Khawaja Imran indicated his worries about the inter-college in Hattian Bala, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) which faces relocation to another facility. The decision received a negative evaluation from him as detrimental to educational growth in the area.

Jhelum Valley, known as the gateway to Occupied Kashmir, is a sensitive area that cannot afford any form of instability, he emphasised. He further stated that educational institutions in the region should not be subjected to unnecessary disruptions.

He also highlighted the ongoing process of securing land for the establishment of a university and a model science college in Jhelum Valley. He urged authorities to reject any external pressures and expedite the completion of this process to address the region’s educational shortcomings.

Khawaja Imran called upon Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Anwar ul Haq, former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, and Minister for School Education Dewan Ali Chughtai to take a personal interest in this matter. He urged them to intervene and direct the relevant authorities to protect the existing college infrastructure.

He declared that both the university campus and inter-college and model science college serve as assets belonging to the Jhelum Valley citizenry. People in the local community will make every necessary sacrifice to preserve the existing status of these educational institutions.

People across the district as well as supporters of education have paid close attention to his announcement while showing apprehension about moving the inter-college to another site. Further development of this matter is expected while officials answer appeals for action.
