RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise ‘Pindiz’ on Tuesday changed its social media accounts name to ‘RawalPINDIZ’, sparking speculation about the franchise’s name change.
According to sources, the PSL administration had asked the franchise to include the full name of the respective city.
Responding to the reports, the Rawalpindi team owner Ahsan Tahir, in a post on X, confirmed that RawalPINDIZ is the “registered name” with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) used for documentation.
After aligning with PSL official league framework and global franchise cricket governance guidelines, RawalPINDIZ is the registered name for paperwork,” Tahir said.
He noted that our team name, our identity, our brand, is and will always be PINDIZ. “We built it, stood by it, and today it’s what Pindi owns. InshAllah, we will make Pindi proud,” he wrote on X.
