RIYADH (Kashmir English): Saudi Arabia Friday confirmed that June 6 (Friday) will be the first day of Eid-ul-Azha across the Kingdom after the Zil Hajj crescent was sighted on Tuesday.

The Kingdom said the Zil Hajj crescent had been sighted, with Hajj to take place on Thursday, June 5.

UAE has also confirmed moon sighting, marking May 28 (today) the first day of Zil Hajj and declaring Eid-ul-Azha on June 6.

Moon sighting committees across the Arab world and other Muslim-majority countries observed the crescent of Zil Hajj — the 12th and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar — on Tuesday.

Crescent moon sighting of Zil Hajjis is crucial for determining the dates of Arafat Day and Eid-ul-Azha.

Moreover, Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday that the Zil Hajj moon was not sighted in the country.

As a result, the nation will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on June 7, 2025.
