ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has announced that it is working to block Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s ‘X’ account and has initiated contact with the social media platform’s management.
Speaking to Dawn News, Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik confirmed that investigations into Imran Khan’s account are underway and that authorities are coordinating directly with X.
“Where the fabric of Imran Khan’s X account comes from, or who is running it, I cannot disclose at this time. However, legal procedures are being followed, and the results will be revealed once more evidence comes to light,” he said.
Earlier, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had launched an inquiry into the activity on Imran Khan’s account, handing over a 21-point questionnaire to the PTI founder.
Investigators sought to determine how his account remained active despite his incarceration, who operates it, and whether posts those deemed anti-national were approved by him.
According to sources, Imran Khan did not cooperate during meetings with the NCCIA team at Adiala Jail, which at times led to bitter exchanges.
The investigation team eventually provided him with a written questionnaire after multiple failed attempts to obtain direct answers.
