ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has introduced stricter travel regulations for overseas Pakistanis travelling on foreign passports with an expired, invalid, or cancelled National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
According to the sources within the Immigration and Passport Department, all airlines operating flights to Pakistan have been instructed not to allow passengers to board flights if they are travelling with the aforementioned National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) with immediate effect.
“All Zonal Directors have been directed to immediately communicate these instructions to all airlines operating flights to Pakistan and ensure strict compliance to prevent the boarding of such passengers,” sources said.
As per details, passengers with an invalid NICOP would obtain a Pakistani visa before travelling to Pakistan.
Measures against JAAC
Sources added that the measures were taken against the facilitators and members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), who are citizens of foreign countries, including Britain, the United States, and European countries.
They would be barred from entering Pakistan without possessing a valid NICOP, and would not be allowed to own any property in the country.
