Govt blocks 46 gambling and forex applications in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has banned 46 gambling and forex applications in Pakistan.

These applications were banned on the recommendation of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

According to the NCCIA spokesperson, 46 gambling and forex apps were banned in Pakistan.

The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency had written to the PTA regarding the closure of these apps.

These apps were illegally collecting billions of rupees from the public. The illegal applications also include non-regulated forex trading apps.

Apps that provide personal data and mobile number details of citizens to other companies are also banned.

According to the NCCIA spokesperson, many apps were illegally collecting personal data and SIM information of citizens.

The greed of gambling and getting rich quickly through these apps misled the youth.
