ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has decided to accept the applications for Hajj 2026 from the unregistered pilgrims, to tackle the concerns over a low number of applications.
Applications from the unregistered pilgrims for Hajj 2026 will start from August 11 to 16, as per the details.
The already registered pilgrims’ applications under the Pakistan government Hajj scheme will be received from August 4 to 9.
All applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, with precedence given to those who have completed the registration procedure.
The normal 38-42-day Hajj package includes a deposit of Rs. 500,000. For the 20-25-day Hajj package, a first installment of Rs. 550,000 is required.
Hajj applications can be lodged at 14 approved banks throughout the country. The second installment of Hajj expenditures will be collected on November 1.
Hajj quota 2026
This year, Pakistan’s total Hajj quota was 179,210, equally divided between the government and private sectors. However, mismanagement left over 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims unable to perform Hajj this year.
The revised policy aims to ensure better transparency and accessibility for pilgrims to the government scheme.
Meanwhile, the collection of Hajj 2026 charges will begin in the first week of next month.
The sources said Hajj 2026 expenses will be collected in two instalments, the first likely to be collected in August.
Only those who have registered themselves for Hajj 2026 will be eligible to submit the required payments, and once the required number of payments is collected in line with the available quota, the process will be closed.
