LAHORE (Kashmir English): The provincial government of Punjab has imposed a ban on the installation of temporary mechanical swings across the province on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, to avoid any untoward incident.

Citing public safety concerns, Punjab Home Department issued a notification that said the move aims to prevent accidents and protect lives, as large crowds, including children, are expected to visit recreational spots during the Eid holidays.

Deputy Commissioners across the province have been directed to ensure compliance.

Permanently installed swings to operate

However, the government has allowed the permanently installed mechanical swings to operate, provided they obtain a valid fitness certificate.

According to the officials, all permanent amusement rides must undergo safety inspections and meet regulatory standards.

Deputy Commissioners concerned have been mandated for verifying compliance before issuing operational permits.

Additionally, the Punjab Home Department has established a central control room in Lahore to monitor security and enforce government directives during the Eid days.

The facility will operate 24/7, coordinating with district administrations to maintain law and order while officials will remain on duty throughout the holidays to monitor safety measures.
