ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Gold prices hit all-time high of Rs350,000 per tola in Pakistan as the precious commodity recorded a surge of Rs2,000 per tola on Thursday.

The gold reached an all-time high amid gains in international markets.

The prices of the yellow metal broke the psychological barrier for the first time in the country’s history, according to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Rate for 10 grams of gold

The rate for 10 grams of gold also soared by Rs1,715 to Rs300,068.

The Thursday’s increase followed the sharp rise of Rs8,600 a day earlier, which had pushed the per tola price in Pakistan to Rs348,000, then the highest on record.

The prices of gold also rose in global markets, with the APGJSA reporting an international rate of $3,329 per ounce, including a premium of $20, up by $19 on the day.

Silver prices in the local market also moved higher, gaining Rs59 to settle at Rs3,401 per tola.
