MIRPUR (Kashmir English): At least four people were injured in a massive explosion due to the gas leakage in a restaurant outside the Quaid-e-Azam Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
As per the details, gas leaked from Butt Karahi and Dixy Chicken resutratns, causing a massive explosion. The injured were immediately shifted to the DHQ Hospital Mirpur.
The explosion shattered the windows of the hotel and nearby buildings. The explosion was so intense that the building shook, eyewitnesses said.
Following the incident, District Magistrate Mirpur Yasir Riaz formed a committee under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Raja Umar Tariq Khan to investigate/inquire into the explosion.
According to the order, the inquiry committee will also include Additional SP Mirpur and Deputy Director Industries and Crafts.
The committee will submit its recommendations to the District Magistrate within a week after a complete investigation into the incident and the prevention of such accidents in the future.
