Eid ul Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice, is a major religious holiday for Muslims. It shows the way Prophet Ibrahim (AS) was ready to sacrifice his son to obey Allah’s command.
Many Muslims globally observe this occasion by sacrificing animals for offerings, and sharing the meat among their families, friends and those who are in need.
The festival is marked by special prayers, get-togethers and giving to those in need. The celebration of Eid ul Adha falls on the 10th of Zilhaj, right after the Hajj pilgrimage and has special meaning for both individuals and communities.
