MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In a recent developments Former Deputy Secretary from Indian-administered Kashmir, Farooq Kirmani, has made strong remarks regarding the Kashmir dispute.
During the Overseas Kashmiris Convention, he stated that the only solution to the Kashmir issue is accession to Pakistan because the Pakistani army is not only the security of Pakistan but also a ray of hope for the Muslims of occupied Kashmir and India.
Remembering his past, the former bureaucrat stated that ”My father was a well-known politician in occupied Kashmir. I was serving as a deputy secretary, but my experience was not pleasant.
Moreover, he added that he felt suffocated by the conditions there. I left India on the pretext of higher education and then settled permanently in the UK, Farooq Kirmani, former deputy secretary in occupied Kashmir, added.
He further stated that he was shocked to see the hardships of Muslims in India and Occupied Kashmir. The people of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir do not value their freedom.
In my childhood, I thought that the two-nation theory had no reality, but as I grew up, I learned more things, gained more experience, and I understood that a strong and stable Pakistan is necessary not only for the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir but also for the Muslims of India and Bangladesh, Farooq added.
Questioning the status of Muslims all around the world, he stated that ”Ask the Muslims about the real meaning of freedom in occupied Kashmir.
