MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Food Authority has banned the manufacture, distribution, and sale of several snacks in the region, declaring them unsatisfactory and substandard.
According to the Food Authority, the banned product includes Shandar Salanty, Shandar Ringo Salanty, AB Nawab Kurkura, and AB Salanty. Zeeshan Brothers Food Company’s products, Ginger Snacks, 804 Snacks, and Tomato Ketchup snacks have also been banned in Azad Kashmir.
Acting on the orders of the Secretary of the Food Authority AJK, the Food Authority obtained samples of the products of the above companies and conducted regular laboratory analysis, the statement said.
“In the light of the laboratory analysis report, the said products of the companies were declared unsatisfactory and substandard,” it added.
The food authority took action under Section 25 of the AJK Food Authority Act 2017, and imposed an immediate ban on the manufacture, distribution, and sale of these products throughout Azad Kashmir, the Food Authority said.
The authority officials have issued instructions to all food safety teams to immediately remove and seize the products of the above companies from the markets and take strict legal action against the food business operators who are guilty of violation.
