ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The spokesperson for the Foreign Office (FO) has strongly refuted reports circulating on social media regarding Pakistan’s efforts for mediation between the US and Iran as fake and baseless.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that reports concerning regional tensions and Pakistan’s mediation efforts have been noted.
He explained that the briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was misrepresented, and material was referenced that was neither discussed nor alluded to.
Social media reports on US-Iran mediation baseless
The Foreign Office spokesperson, refuting the ‘false news’ circulating on social media, said that baseless and fabricated news is strongly rejected.
He called for responsibility in light of regional sensitivities and delicate times, adding that media platforms should conduct thorough research and avoid speculation.
According to the spokesperson, misrepresenting Pakistan’s stance is not only irresponsible but can also create misunderstandings in a sensitive diplomatic environment.
