DHIRKOT (Kashmir English): A truck loaded with flour was seized in the Chamyati Chungi area near Dhirkot while being transported to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As per details, the truck was heading towards Mansehra and Abbottabad via Kotli and Rawalakot. It was stopped and taken into custody by the police, and further legal action was initiated.

This illegal shipment of flour had been going on for a long time, in which a large quantity of flour was being transported through Azad Kashmir and sold in different areas of KP.

Public circles say that on the one hand, local citizens are worried about the shortage of flour and inflation. On the other hand, the continued smuggling of flour through an alleged nexus is a question mark on the performance of the administration.

Citizens demand that a transparent investigation be conducted into the matter and that nondiscriminatory action be taken against the elements involved in this business.

Citizens said that flour is often not available to ordinary citizens in Dhirkot and its surroundings at government rates, while the fact that large quantities of flour are being transported to other areas is a matter of concern.

The people have demanded that strict action be taken by identifying those responsible so that such illegal activities can be curbed in the future.
