ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Flour prices have continued to rise in Lahore’s open market, adding to the financial pressure on citizens already struggling with high inflation.

Private flour companies have reportedly increased prices one after another. Following a hike of Rs15, the price of a 5kg flour pack from one private company has reached Rs1,035, while another company is selling its 5kg pack for Rs1,020.

The continued increase has raised concerns among consumers, who say rising flour prices are placing an additional burden on household budgets. Citizens have urged the authorities to take notice of the situation and ensure that prices remain under control.

According to the official rates, a 10kg flour bag is priced at Rs1,100, while the price of a 20kg bag stands at Rs2,200.

The gap between official rates and prices charged by some private companies has also prompted concerns among consumers over effective price monitoring in the open market.
