MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Amid the heavy rainfall, cloud bursts, and potential flash floods in several areas of Azad Kashmir, the District Police Muzaffarabad has increased the patrolling near the river banks at various places, and police check posts have also been set up at some places.
Police personnel are actively monitoring the flooding, etc., in the river and keeping people away from the river so that there is no loss of life.
Police stations Panjgran, forest teams are present on the banks of the Nausiri Dam, and the valuable timber flowing into the dam is being protected.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains in different parts of the country, including Muzaffarabad district and adjoining areas, from August 17 to 19, 2025, which may cause flooding, landslides, and other hazards in the rivers and canals.
The public is requested to avoid unnecessary travel and be aware of the weather conditions before traveling.
