RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The heirs of Fiza Khursheed, a 17-year-old girl who died due to alleged medical negligence at CMH Rawalakot, have rejected the allegations made by doctors regarding their strike during the press conference.

The heirs have demanded the release of the Judicial Commission report, which was submitted on May 5 but has not been released yet, and expressed their hope for complete justice from the court.

While addressing a press conference at Rawalakot Press Club, the victim’s maternal uncle, brother Fahad Ashraf, and cousin Rashid Sharif welcomed the arrest of two lady doctors named in the case and demanded action against all those responsible for Fiza’s death.

In response to the doctors’ allegation, the heirs rejected the doctors’ strike and press conference, stating that it was an attempt to delay justice.

They said that the FIR of the case was registered on September 06, 2024, while an inquiry committee was formed by the DHO Poonch on September 07, 2024, to investigate the matter, which said that a report should be submitted within 3 days.

The reports were not submitted within the stipulated timeframe, and the heirs were not provided with the inquiry reports, the deceased’s relatives said.

After failing to get justice from institutions, the heirs approached the Justice of the Peace, who initiated action.

On the direction of the AJK High Court, the Justice of the Peace ordered the arrest of two lady doctors and one nurse, who were arrested a few days ago.

The doctors started protesting against this arrest and also refused to provide their services.

The doctors went on strike and protested against the arrest, alleging that the heirs distrusted the committees formed to investigate the matter. The heirs criticized the doctors for rejecting the decisions of the courts and initiating contempt of court proceedings.

Addressing the press conference, the heirs expressed their determination to pursue the case until its logical conclusion and expect the court to provide them with justice. They condemn efforts to assess the impact of the case and vow not to accept any attempts to influence the judicial process.
