NEW YORK (Kashmir English): A fresh leak indicates that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will bring five significant upgrades, which would significantly change Apple’s flagship lineup later this year.
The first significant upgrade could come from the front of the phone. The Dynamic Island will be smaller. The flood illuminator for Face ID might be relocated under the screen. Consequently, consumers might experience a cleaner and more immersive screen experience.
On the rear, Apple could improve its camera setup once again. The 48MP primary sensor will feature variable aperture. This will enable the camera to dynamically control the amount of light that reaches the sensor. Consequently, consumers might enjoy better depth and low-light photography.
Three new chips are expected to arrive on the Pro series. The A20 Pro will fuel both handsets, and it will be built using TSMC’s first-generation 2nm process. Apple is also expected to introduce a new packaging solution for this chip. This could bring faster speeds and enhanced efficiency.
The wireless performance may also receive an enhancement, as the new N2 chip will come in place of the N1 chip, which is currently present in the iPhone 17 series and the iPhone Air.
The N1 chip currently handles the Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity. Although not much is known, the N2 chip may enhance wireless reliability and lower power consumption.
Apple’s modem plans may also receive a major overhaul. The C2 modem is expected to make its debut in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Until now, Apple has kept its in-house modem development confined.
The C1 modem made its debut in the iPhone 16e. The C1X, on the other hand, was seen in the iPhone Air. With the C2 modem, Apple’s in-house modem may finally make its way into the mainstream Pro series.
If the leak is true, then Apple will be launching the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. The tech giant will also be launching the iPhone Fold at the same event. The regular iPhone 18, on the other hand, may make its debut next spring alongside the iPhone 18e.
Apple’s foldable iPhone details leaked
Earlier, Rumors of technology company Apple entering the foldable smartphone category next year are gaining momentum, as Apple’s first foldable iPhone is likely to be introduced in 2026.
A leaker on the Chinese social networking platform Weibo, Digital Chat Station (DCS), has leaked details regarding the screen size of the iPhone Fold (the company has not decided on the final name of the phone).
According to the leaks, the inner part of the folding display will allegedly be 7.7 inches, while the cover screen will be 5.5 inches. This shows that this ratio will be different from Android phones.
However, some reports say the display of the first foldable iPhone could be 7.9 to 8.3 inches.
Moreover, other reports suggest that the foldable iPhone will be the most powerful battery phone in the company’s history, with a 5000 to 5500 mAh battery.
Right now, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has the largest 4685 mAh battery from Apple.
It is said that this will be Apple’s most expensive iPhone. The leak said that the price of this phone in China will be 15,000 yuan, which is $ 2,090. In other countries, this price may be even higher.
