NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): With the arrival of winter in Kashmir, the first snowfall has begun on the high mountains of Neelum Valley.
After fresh snowfall on the mountains of Makra Pahar and Urang Kel, the area is covered with a white sheet, which has significantly increased the intensity of the cold.
According to the Meteorological Department, on Monday, there is a possibility of strong winds, thunder, and thundershowers in various parts of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, and Punjab, while heavy rain and hailstorms may also occur at some places.
The report said that strong winds and thundershowers are expected at most places in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, and more snowfall is expected in the high and low areas.
The scenery has become very attractive after the snowfall in the tourist spot Urang Kel and its surroundings. According to locals, a significant drop in temperature has been recorded due to the cold winds.
The influx of tourists to the valley has increased, while people have started using warm clothes and are enjoying the cold weather. The intensity of cold has increased with heavy rain in Muzaffarabad.

On the other hand, rain continued in other parts of the country. Rain fell in the cities of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur of Punjab, while light to heavy rain was also recorded in Karachi, Hyderabad, and other coastal areas.
The weather turned pleasant after heavy rain in the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and various parts of Azad Kashmir. According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in most parts of the country in the coming days and snowfall in some mountainous areas.
