First Hajj flight from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia on May 1

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The first Hajj flight from Pakistan to is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on May 1 (Thursday) with five airlines, including PIA and Saudi Airlines participating in the Hajj operation.

According to officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Hajj operation will continue for 30 days, with the last flight leaving Pakistan on May 30. Sources said that the flight schedule is expected to be formally released by April 10.

Five airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines and Saudi Airlines, will participate in the Hajj operation.

Approximately 89,000 Pakistani pilgrims will travel to the holy sites under the government scheme out of total 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims set to perform Hajj this year.

The Hajj flights will start nearly 35 days after the Kingdom reopened its airspace for the pilgrimage season.

The authorities have assured that comprehensive arrangements are in place to facilitate a smooth and hassle-free journey for the intending pilgrims.

Meanwhile, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that the meningitis vaccine will be mandatory for pilgrims participating from across the world in Hajj 2025.

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, both Saudi citizens and foreign nationals must receive the vaccination, warning that without it, individuals will not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage.

The Ministry further clarified that registration and Hajj packages will not be processed for the individuals not receiving the vaccine.

This decision is aimed at preventing the spread of infectious diseases during Hajj.
