TEHRAN (Kashmir English): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Wednesday arrived in Iran’s capital, Tehran, along with a high-level delegation amid the ongoing mediation efforts to end the US-Iran conflict.
According to the Inter–Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation also includes the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
“COAS and CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Mohsin Naqvi, Interior Minister, along with the delegation, arrive at Tehran as part of the ongoing mediation efforts,” the military’s media wing said.
Al Jazeera, citing an Iranian source, reported that the delegation will hold high-level talks on the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the US.
Earlier today, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told reporters a Pakistani delegation will probably arrive in Iran on Wednesday and pass on messages from the US in a continuation of talks between Tehran and Washington.”
“Multiple messages were exchanged between the two sides through Pakistan since Tehran’s delegation returned from Islamabad,” Baghaei said in a weekly press briefing.
