ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government on Monday officially opened the registration of applications for the e-bike and e-rickshaw scheme.
Under the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025-30, the government will provide 40,000 electric motorcycles and 1,000 electric rickshaws in the first phase.
The e-bikes and three-wheeler e-rickshaws will be given on an installment plan and subsidy.
Moreover, the federal government stated that women, delivery workers, and flat operators will get special quotas in the scheme.
The statement added that the scheme aims at saving Rs290 billion in the wake of fuel import and will help reduce environmental pollution.
How to apply for e-bike scheme
The government said that the public can apply online at www.pave.gov.pk or call the helpline number, 1048.
It added that a subsidy of Rs 80,000 will be given on each electric bike, and a subsidy of Rs 400,000 will be provided on each electric rickshaw and loader.
Moreover, the government will give a loan of up to Rs 200,000 for the period of two years for electric bikes, and up to Rs 880,000 loan with three years of easy installment for e-rickshaws.

The government has opened the registrations on Monday, September 1, which will continue till September 30, 2025.
Furthermore, the statement added that the concerned department will hold computerised balloting on October 1 to select winners.
