SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): Experts on South Asian affairs have reiterated that the Kashmir dispute is not an internal matter of India but a dangerous unresolved conflict with serious implications for regional and global peace.
According to Kashmir Media Service, citing the May flare-ups as a stark warning of the growing risk of nuclear confrontation between India and Pakistan, the experts cautioned that continued global inaction on the Kashmir dispute could result in catastrophic consequences.
“Situation in occupied Kashmir is escalating”
“The situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is escalating, and urgent international engagement is needed,” they stressed.
The experts called on the United Nations to act decisively, saying a just and lasting solution in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people is essential for lasting peace in South Asia.
“Silence is no longer an option—ignoring the Kashmir crisis risks spiraling instability with global ramifications,” they cautioned.
