ANKARA (Kashmir English): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he was happy to welcome Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation during their recent visit to Türkiye.

In a message posted in Turkish on social media platform X, President Erdoğan said that the meeting with Prime Minister Sharif covered key matters related to the economy, trade, and security.

He stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between Türkiye and Pakistan in all areas.

President Erdoğan also said he sent a message of affection to the people of Pakistan through their Prime Minister and thanked Shehbaz Sharif and his team for coming to Türkiye. He prayed for the unity and brotherhood between the two nations to remain strong under Allah’s protection.

Earlier, in his own post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described President Erdoğan as his “dear brother” and expressed his heartfelt thanks. He also extended warm wishes on behalf of the Pakistani people to their Turkish brothers and sisters.

The Prime Minister said that the meeting allowed both sides to review progress in the wide-ranging bilateral relationship, with a special focus on trade and investment. He also reaffirmed his promise to keep working closely with Türkiye to further strengthen what he called an “unshakable bond of brotherhood and cooperation”.

It is important to note that this meeting was seen as a key moment in Pakistan–Türkiye relations. According to the official statement, both countries agreed to take further steps to deepen ties. They also discussed their shared historical and cultural connections, which have long been a source of unity.

 

 

Prime Minister Sharif expressed sincere gratitude for Türkiye’s support during recent tensions between Pakistan and India. He said that Türkiye’s stand showed the deep and lasting friendship that continues to connect the two nations.
