JHELUM (Kashmir English): Police on Monday arrested renowned Islamic scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza from Jhelum and sealed his academy.
As per details, Jhelum Police has taken Mirza into custody under the 3MPO and shifted him to jail. Police said that this action was taken on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Syed Maisam Abbas.
The purpose of the arrest is to maintain law and order, police said. Officials have not revealed full details and reasons for the arrest.
Furthermore, district authorities have also sealed Qur’an & Sunnat Research Academy, locking its premises to prevent any gatherings or activities.
