MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain has barred all government employees of Mirpur division from contacting foreign embassies or foreign agencies without permission from the competent authority.

As per the notification issued on Thursday, the decision has been notified under Rule 34 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1981.

The text of the said Rule 34 stated, “No Government servant shall approach, directly or indirectly, a foreign mission in Azad Jammu and Kashmir or Pakistan or any foreign aid giving agency in Azad Jammu and Kashmir or Pakistan or abroad to secure for himself invitations to visit a foreign country or to illicit offers of training facilities abroad.”

The notification added, “Therefore, the attention of all government employees posted in Mirpur Division is hereby drawn to the said Rule 34.”

The order directed the employees to ensure the implementation of the said Rule 34 and to avoid direct contact with foreign embassies or foreign aid agencies or other foreign organizations without the written permission of the Competent Authority.

In addition, participation in events organized by such foreign organizations without prior permission and approval should also be avoided, the order from Commissioner Mirpur maintained.
