AJK govt employee suspended for participating in anti-state activities in Mirpur

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): In a significant development, Muhammad Hanif, a watchman at the Office of the Assistant Engineer, Public Works, Buildings, Headquarters, PWD (Public Works Department) Rest House Mirpur, has been suspended from service.

The suspension will come into effect immediately, according to the official notification. The suspension follows allegations of his involvement in anti-state activities.

According to an official order, Hanif was found to have participated in an anti-state meeting at Rara Jagir (Islamgarh) on September 15, 2025.

The Joint Public Action Committee reportedly identified him as being directly involved in activities deemed harmful to the state.

An inquiry officer, Mr. Sajjad Ahmed, Assistant Engineer, Public Works, Out Station, Sub-Division, has been appointed to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

The inquiry officer is expected to submit a report with clear recommendations within a period of 10 days.

During the suspension, Hanif will be required to remain present at the Office of the Assistant Engineer, Public Works, Buildings, Headquarters. The suspension order has taken effect immediately.

The development underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that its employees adhere to the highest standards of conduct and loyalty to the state. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
